Broadway Stars Sing, Dance at Rainy Thanksgiving Parade in NYC
Despite the heavy rain, thousands of people lined the streets of New York City on Thursday to watch the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade featured floats, marching bands, and performances by Broadway stars.
Broadway Stars Perform
Some of the biggest names on Broadway performed in the parade, including Sutton Foster, Norm Lewis, and Gavin Creel. They sang and danced their way down the parade route, bringing joy to the crowd.
“It’s always an honor to perform in the parade,” said Foster. “It’s such a special event, and it’s a great way to spread some holiday cheer.”
Rainy Conditions
The rain did not dampen the spirits of the performers or the crowd. In fact, some people said the rain made the parade even more festive.
“I love the rain,” said one spectator. “It makes the parade more magical.”
Thousands Attend
Despite the weather, an estimated 3 million people attended the parade. The parade is a New York City tradition that dates back to 1924.
“The parade is a reminder of what makes New York City so great,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “It’s a city of immigrants and dreamers, and the parade is a celebration of that diversity.”
Forward-Looking
The Thanksgiving Day Parade is a cherished tradition that will continue for many years to come. It is a day for families and friends to come together and celebrate the holiday season.
“The parade is a symbol of hope and joy,” said one spectator. “It’s a reminder that even in tough times, we can always find something to celebrate.”
